Residential program FAQ
The goal of each resident is to transition to the next appropriate housing facility including: residential treatment programs, permanent supportive housing programs, board and care facilities, reunite with family, or independent living.
Transitional Housing
WillBridge transitional home is shared housing offered to chronic homeless, mentally ill adults. It is their 1st step coming in from the streets; an alternative to incarceration. They need a place to go when they are discharged from the jail or hospital and ready to begin moving to independent living.
Permanent Supportive Housing
Permanent Supportive Housing is the next tier in WillBridge’s housing program for residents demonstrating their readiness for less supervision & more independence. Residents live in a safe, comfortable home that is subsidized with 30% of their income going towards housing expenses and elective supportive services that are available.
Medical Respite
Homeless patients are referred by Cottage Hospital following major surgery, or receiving treatment for a terminal illness. Medical respite programs improve transitional care, end the cycle of homelessness, & support patients.
Peer Street Outreach
Peer Street Outreach Program consists of WillBridge staff, residents, volunteers, and collaborating partners, like Santa Barbara Public Health Nurse. The team works with 50/60 chronic homeless individuals 3 times a week.
